Mance van Beers (1964) graduated in 2000 from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. After a broad orientation in the field of techniques, she has devoted herself to working with clay since 2003. The clay offers her an unprecedented variety of possibilities for shaping and processing.

Classic vases often form the basis for her work, hand-shaped and constructed from scrolls. By stacking with a different shape, the so-called vase is stripped of its original function and an autonomous object is created. Using mixed techniques, Mance processes the works in several layers. This layering remains visible and brings the object to life, as it were.
Mance works intuitively. Her objects are graceful and fine, but also robust and powerful. In each work of art she searches for a balance in form, structure, texture and color.
