Mariska Karto

Mariska Karto (1971) is an art photographer born in Suriname, she grew up and still lives in the Netherlands. She originally makes figurative sketches and works with textiles.

Mariska uses the body and fabrics to create a sensitive and sincere atmosphere in her art photography. In her work she regularly refers to the Baroque style, but gives it her own twist through the use of the medium of photography.
