Paulina Otylie Surys

Paulina Otylie Surys was born in Poland but currently works in London, England. In Wroclaw, Poland, she studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. She then studied photography at Middlesex University in London.

Paulina’s work seamlessly maneuvers between modern and old-fashioned techniques that together form a new, innovative image. She experiments with tints, chemicals and inks over dry dyes to arrive at the final artwork. Her silver gelatin print in combination with her arsenal of vintage cameras gives a unique image. The traditional process is very important to Paulina, the organic way of designing offers her a lot of inspiration. The results are sublime, grand and deceptive.
