Carla her sculptures are about people and their relationships. They are only normal people, shown in everyday things. Their gathering is harmonious and uncomplicated. The two of them are on their way, stand together in groups, or are daydreaming on the sofa. The figures are simplified portrayed, without any clear personal traits. If there are multiple persons in the game, it makes the repentance of the stylized shapes give a rhythmic effect. The skin is kept rough so the original edits in the clay or wax can still be seen. Carla Wiersma concentrates not on the big dramas of live. Her attention goes to what brings people together, not what takes them apart.
